Branding & Human Design for Online Teachers and Coaches
Hello my dear,
Welcome back to our article series on aligning your business for soulful success.
In our previous newsletter, we explored the importance of having a clear vision for your business. If you haven't read it, you can find the full blog post article right here : Unveiling Your Authentic Business Journey - Harnessing the Power of Human Design for Deeper Alignment
Today, we dive deeper into the next crucial aspect of alignment: Branding!
During our recent workshop The 6 Keys to an Aligned Business, we discussed the transformative journey of creating an attractive brand that authentically expresses your vision and resonates with your audience.
Let’s delve into the insights and practices we explored, as we uncover the power of aligned branding.
What actually is branding - and what it is not.
Branding is the essence of how you express your vision, mission, and values to your audience. It encompasses the overall experience you create for your users, from the moment they first discover you until the completion of their journey with you.
It's a deliberate and intentional way of communicating who you are, what you do, and why you do it, while evoking specific emotions and associations with your business.
Branding is not about controlling how people perceive you. Of course, you can shape your brand through consistency and messaging. But ultimately, it's a dynamic conversation between your business and your audience, which means that people's perceptions of your brand (and of you) may vary, and that's beyond your control.
Branding is not about people-pleasing or trying to cater to everyone's preferences. It's not about blending in or altering your voice and appearance to match the expectations of others. It's about being fully and authentically yourself.
Let 's dive deeper.
The Ingredients for Soulful Branding
Authenticity: Building an authentic brand begins with being true to yourself from the inside out. I hear so many women tell me about their beliefs that they should speak more a certain way, or look different, in order to be taken seriously or to match with their brand, and this is mostly the voice of the inner critic shouting at them "you are not enough" and it's a trap that is: 1 - not sustainable, 2 - misleading for your audience and 3 - really harmful for your self-esteem. Start by getting to know yourself—your patterns, behaviors, and energy. Clear yourself of the conditionings you've received - and as a woman they are oh-so-many! Set the intention to meet your true colors... and then to show them :)
Understanding Your Target Audience: Deeply understanding your target audience is vital for creating a brand that connects with them on a profound level. Spend time engaging in conversations, asking questions, and experiencing situations similar to your audience. By gaining insights into their thoughts, emotions, and desires, you can craft a brand that truly resonates with them.
Clear Positioning: Differentiating yourself from the competition is crucial for standing out in the market. Take the time to identify what sets you apart and make your positioning more specific. Embrace your uniqueness, even if it feels triggering for sensitive souls who have learned to blend in. Creating a sense of safety within yourself allows you to authentically express and be seen.
Brand Story: Your brand story is a powerful tool for connecting with your audience. Share why you care about your mission and how it has shaped your journey. Additionally, communicate the transformational journey you will take your audience on. Craft a narrative that resonates deeply and creates an emotional connection.
Visuals: Most people start working on branding by playing around on Canva with colors and fonts. Nope. While visuals are important, they come after you have laid the foundation of your brand. Use visuals to reinforce your brand story and evoke the emotions you'd like your audience to feel when they interact with you and your content. And remember: yes your visual identity should align with you (and your brand’s essence) but also resonate with your target audience.
Consistency: Consistency is often misunderstood and this misunderstanding leads to so much frustration and overwhelm. Consistency is not about constantly posting on social media or other platforms. Instead, it’s about regularly sharing a message that remains aligned with your brand values and mission. I'd rather you creating one piece of aligned content every month on your blog than posting daily on social media with content that is not in line with your brand.
Incorporating Human Design into Your Branding
When you embody what you stand for, everything you say becomes magnetic, valuable, and a strong representation of the transformation you can offer others.
Looking into what the planets have to say about your soul story is what I find the most helpful when it comes to understanding how to embody your life purpose in this lifetime, and this is something you can uncover in a 1:1 Human Design reading with me.
If you’re not ready for that yet, no worries : I’ve got something for you right now!
Your Human Design profile lines can provide guidance on how to show up for your audience and highlight different aspects of your authentic self.
What's a Profile?
The Profile is that number you find in the description of your Human Design Type. If you haven't got a copy of your chart, you can get one for free right here : Jovian Archive
It looks something like "5/1" or "6/2".
The first number represents your Conscious Line, and the second number your Unconscious one.
I won't get into the deep details of how it is calculated in this newsletter, but in a nutshell, it's to do with the lines of the Hexagrams that are activated by your Sun and Earth planets in your chart.
Here’s a glimpse of how each Conscious profile line can influence your content creation.
Line One (Profiles 1/3 & 1/4): Embrace your role as a researcher, sharing your discoveries and insights.
The first profile line embodies the essence of a researcher. Your magnetic appeal lies in the thrill of exploration and uncovering new knowledge. Utilize your learning experiences as inspiration for your content creation. Share the subjects you're studying, the insights you've gained, and the discoveries you've made. As a natural investigator, sharing the intricate details and evidence you've uncovered will ignite excitement within your audience, allowing them to feel your passion.
Line Two (Profiles 2/4 & 2/5): Tap into your hermit archetype, sharing your unique perspective and learning process.
The second profile line embodies the hermit archetype, symbolizing individuals who excel in independent problem-solving. You thrive when given the space to navigate and understand things on your own. Observing others and learning from their actions, often without relying on formal education, is your expertise. Share your insights gained from observing and learning from others. Embrace the ease in expressing your unique approach, as you have nothing to prove and factual evidence is not always necessary. Enlighten your audience by sharing how you personally accomplish tasks and handle situations.
Line Three (Profiles 3/5 & 3/6): Embrace the messy action and experimentation as a means of growth, sharing your honest experiences.
The third profile line embodies the martyr archetype, i.e individuals who learn through hands-on experience and taking imperfect action. Your journey involves trial and error, where authenticity lies in sharing your honest experiences and the lessons learned from your experiments. Embracing chaos allows you to gather valuable insights for personal growth. Give yourself permission to learn and make mistakes along the way, embracing the messiness of the process. Your willingness to share your own experiments creates a sense of safety for others in their own explorations. You demonstrate that it's perfectly acceptable not to achieve perfection on the first try and encourage celebrating the entire journey.
Line Four (Profiles 4/6 & 4/1): Utilize your gift of analysis and observation to share case studies, patterns, and behaviors in your industry.
The fourth profile line embodies the opportunist archetype. As a fourth-liner, you naturally shift your focus beyond yourself and pay attention to others. Your keen observations and insights into people's lives are truly remarkable. Your gift lies in the ability to analyze and understand others. By nature, you are an integral part of your community and have a genuine desire to create opportunities for others whenever possible. Sharing case studies, observations, and interpretations within your industry allows you to showcase the patterns and behaviors you observe. This is where your magic shines through, as you make people feel seen, understood, and cared for.
Line Five (Profiles 5/1 & 5/2) : Be brave enough to challenge the status quo, calling out what needs to change while empowering positive behavior.
The fifth profile line embodies the heretic archetype. This line, like the fourth, directs its attention outward, but with a touch of judgment. Your ability to draw conclusions and pass judgments on behavior patterns is part of your unique magic. To let your authentic brand shine, it's crucial to be courageous enough to call out the nonsense and address what others may shy away from. I suggest highlighting the behavior patterns while focusing your energy on empowering the desired behavior. People don't like being judged and criticized - it makes us feel bad about ourselves and it's rarely constructive (says my sensitive Libra soul). So instead, offer solutions and inspire them to tap into their potential. That's how you encourage positive growth and transformation within them.
Line Six (Profiles 6/2 & 6/3): As a role model and visionary, lead the way by sharing your innovative ideas and experiences that push the boundaries.
The sixth profile line embodies the role model archetype. Your purpose is to accumulate experience and guide the collective towards new evolutionary paths. As an industry leader and visionary, you have the ability to pioneer uncharted territories. Your role is to create what has never been created before, which necessitates gaining the necessary experience. Embrace innovation and fearlessly share your unique ideas that nobody else has conceived. Be the trailblazer who ventures where nobody has gone before, and generously share your insights and experiences along the way. Your journey holds the potential to inspire and guide others towards new horizons.
By aligning your brand with your authentic self and incorporating the insights from your Human Design profile, you can create content that resonates deeply with your audience and reflects the transformation you offer.
